OSKIE FLAG FOOTBALL Semi-Pro Rules
Description:
Semi-pro is a division that was created to allow players to play on a second team. This division will play both pro and rec teams throughout the season, but will have their own playoffs. The Semi pro playoff will always be separate from the pro playoffs and will try to always be on its own when no other playoffs are happening. The purpose of Semi-Pro is to give players that opportunity as well as give players a chance to play with a different group of guys. Originally development was a primarty goal and it is still encouraged, but it is not a main focus. So if you are just looking to play more games, or have a second team with a different group of friends then Semi-Pro is for you. In the Spring, Summer and Fall (Outdoors sessions) this will be on Thursday nights. In the winter this will be on Sunday nights. To strive to create even and competitive games we have created a rule set that limits rosters. Please check the "pro players" tab on the home page to get the list of Pro players. the rules are as follows:
Semi pro rules:
- 2 pro players max
- 3 “two way players” max (Plays on 2 teams)
- No pro subs (No matter the role)
Grandfather clause
- Any team that has spent 3 or more sessions together cannot be broken up due to players getting picked up by other teams or players being added to the pro list.
- Any player introduced to the league (first time playing) will not count against a teams pro players regardless of if he is added to the list.
New Team rule:
New teams or teams that have not won the semi pro division in the Past 5 sessions will be allowed one extra “two way player”.
***TWO WAY PLAYER - Is a player that plays on more than 1 team***

I feel that with these rules in place along, with the grandfather clause and new team rule, this will allow teams that have been together to stick together. This will allow players that are committed to this team first to get picked up and compete in the pro division. It allows the teams that are not winning or new to pick up some of the better players on rec teams and involve them in a higher level of play, and it limits the teams that are winning if they were to need any new players. I think this really allows us to clean up the semi pro and create more opportunities for players in the league as well as keep the division more competitive without tearing apart teams.

Clarifications:
Players listed on the pro list are only pro in the category listed. If they do not play the specific position they will not be labeled a pro player. This is game by Game.
The pro list will not change mid season at any point. It is reviewed between all sessions and updated accordingly.
If you have a pro player that misses you cannot get a sub that is listed anywhere on the pro list. You must use players that are not on the list at all.

Semi-pro Teams with grandfather rosters:
Bandits - Dylan Jones*, Matt McMahon*, AJ Lincoln*, Caden Leach, Jackson Drake, Don Moody, Garret Hartner, Tony Dorr.
Oskie - Kendall Martin**, Joe Pieper**, Nick Holtmeyer, Xavier Cooper, Titus McIntosh, Kyden Johnson, Deven Lee, Luke Tillman.
These two teams have all been together for 3+ sessions (Much longer) and will not be forced to break up due to the semi pro rules. Players with *were originally on the pro list and will be treated so. ** players also were on the pro list just with a specific position. These players will be allowed to play semi-pro games according to how they were originally ranked.
Players that make the "grandfather rule" for a team will be protected on that team even if they do not play a session or more. The only way they will lose their spot for the rule would be if they play on a different team on the same night as the original team without playing for the original team as well. Meaning if player A plays for Team A for 2 years then leaves to play on the same night for Team B and does not play for Team A....they will be removed from the grandfather rule list. This protects players unable to play other nights in the winter as well.
At this point these are the only teams that have stayed together for 3+ sessions in which thier players progressed into pro list players. Any team that meets these requirements will be added at that time.
If a team introduces a new player, (First time playing in our league) that player will be under the grandfather rule as well. I do not have any intentions of punishing teams that introduce players to the league or teams that stick together for being "too good".

SUNDAY NIGHT WINTER INDOOR SESSIONS SPECIFIC RULES:
During the winter indoor sessions with our limited space, time and numbers we treat Sundays as a night that is more for semi-pro/rec level teams. HOWEVER, this is not limited only to those teams. It is still its own league. There is only a few limitations which include:
- If a team has any player that was rostered for Martin Jewelry or CSK in the last 5 sessions must follow the listed Semi-Pro rules. These two teams are the only 2 teams with Thursday Night league championships within the last 5 sessions so their players will be held to tighter rules while making second teams.
- Any team containing a player that has ever won a league (gold) championship within the last 5 sessions will be exempt for ever going into a consolation/lower bracket.
